WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES

A cozy, communal winter book study of Women Who Run With the Wolves. We’ll gather as women to read, reflect, and talk about Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Jungian analysis of myths, fairytales, and stories that shape the wild feminine.

This is not a structured program or a guided container — just space for open + thoughtful discussion for women who desire to read the book together.

Whether you’ve read it before, are reading it for the first time, or want to connect more deeply with women who want to reclaim to their own Wild Woman, you are welcome here.

☾ HOw we’ll gather

We’ll gather online, cameras on or off (whatever you feel comfortable with), for just over an hour every three weeks. This will hopefully give you time to sit with the reading, as it does ask for a bit of slowness + intentionality.

You can join for the entirety of the book study, or drop in with specific chapters that you want to go deeper on. And if you get behind at any point, that is okay! You are welcome to join in any way that feels good to you.

We’ll also have a Signal group chat for those who may want to connect in between our book club sessions together.

And as with any space we share our hearts in, we’ll commit to one another the following:

Respectful, loving conversation
Assuming best intent of one another
Awareness of our own inner world
Radical confidentiality, always and in all ways

☾ The flow of our book study

Dr. Estés outlines in the digital book some ways to circle around this book; we’ll follow her wisdom + guidance for our time together.

Check In + Positive Note: 10 minutes

We’ll say hello, settle into our space, and each share a positive note from our life. This can be something you experienced in nature, or something around your world, love, art, or work.

Group Reflections / Discussion: 60 minutes

Our discussion will be less guided / prompted and more open-sharing, discussing what felt meaningful, challenging, impactful, or transformative. Come with whatever you want to share, dig into, or reflect on.

Closing + Blessing / Passage reading: 5 minutes

As we close, a different women each week will share a blessing into the group — a prayer , a passage from the book, or just a wish for the women in our circle. Dr. Estés calls this a blessing “to go forth and do well, to dream deeply and take time to think and act in good ways”.

This book club will be gentle and “homework-less”, so you won’t have to prepare any specific reflections or discussion questions — just whatever arises for you through your reading.

“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.”

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés
